How do I know what flooring is right for my space?

Our experienced estimators will help guide you on this. There are many determining factors, including who uses the space, the layout, existing wood accents, entry points etcetera. Every project is unique and we treat them as such.

Why does my wood floor have gaps?

Hardwood floors contract and expand with changes in temperature and humidity. So usually in the winter the floor will contract, and as spring starts, it will slowly expand back.

Custom Finish vs Prefinished?

Custom flooring allows you to choose your species, color and sheen. The process does take a little longer. Prefinished is 100% complete from the manufacturer. We have a wide array of samples of species and colors to choose from.

How often should my floors be re-sanded?

Honestly, less frequent than you think, if at all! If you start to see traffic or wear on your floor call us. We will come out and assess if the floor just needs a maintenance coat of finish.

How do I clean my floor?

This will vary on the floor. NEVER use a steam mop or wax on a wood floor, and only use a vacuum if it has a hard floor setting. We recommend a thorough sweeping prior to using a recommended cleaner with mop if necessary.

How do I protect my new floor?

• Put throw rugs in front of every outside door and the kitchen sink to minimize harmful sand and grit.

• Put felt pads on the legs or floor contact points of all furniture.

• Clean up spills and tracked-in dirt immediately.
