Gym Floor Refinishing

Expert flooring service for gyms, basketball courts and more.

Basketball Court and Gymnasium Floor Refinishing

We provide expert service for gymnasiums and basketball court refinishing in Kansas and the Midwest.

Hardwood gym floors typically need refinished every 8-10 years, depending on use. This refinishing process goes beyond annual screening and re-coating. Refinishing removes all finish and paint down to the bare wood. Then, all new finish and court lines are reapplied.

Refinishing periodically helps restore the wood’s natural beauty, while improving safely and court longevity.

Timeframe & Scheduling

We schedule most court refinishing jobs during downtime. For schools, this is normally in the summer. The entire process can take 1-2 weeks. Most of the work is done the first several days, then newly finished court will take about a week to cure.

We’ve worked on gym floors in Wichita, throughout Kansas, and all over the Midwest. We work with high schools, colleges, pro teams, churches, and more. If your court isn’t quite ready for a refinish, regular screening and coating can help maintain your floors shine and friction.

Why Hardwood Courts Need Refinishing

Gym floor require refinishing for a number of reasons. Because finishes wear down over time, the court can become slippery, increasing the risk of falls. As the finish wears, the hardwood also becomes more susceptible to scratches, dents, and staining.

Aesthetically, gym floors also fade over time. Painted logos and lines can become hard to see, and the wood can appear dull and worn.

A well-maintained hardwood court can last for 50+ years. Just like a car, regular maintenance can ensure you get the most from your investment.

If you have a hardwood basketball court or gym floor that is due for refinishing, get in touch for an estimate today. Our team provides expert service for all types of athletic flooring.
